A pair of home runs power Twins past Astros in series rubber match

A three-run homer powered the Minnesota Twins past the Houston Astros 4-1 in their series rubber match on Wednesday afternoon.

Joe Ryan gave up one run over six innings with nine strikeouts en route to earning his third win of the season. Yoendrys Gomez earned the hold after tossing two shutout innings with five strikeouts. Andrew Morris threw a scoreless ninth inning, picking up the save.

Ryan Kreidler led the Minnesota offense with a three-run homer, his third of the season. Victor Caratini added a solo home run, his second of the 2026 campaign.

The Twins rose to a record of 23-27 on the season. The Twins now have an off day before visiting the Boston Red Sox to Fenway Park for a weekend series beginning on Friday night at 6:10 p.m. with full game coverage available on Twins.TV. Connor Prielipp will be on the mound for Minnesota while Payton Tolle counters for Boston.
