(Fargo, ND) – A 41-year-old Fargo woman was injured in a pedestrian-vehicle accident just before 6 p.m. on Sunday on 13th Avenue South at the I-29 underpass.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 31-year-old Andin Schaffer, of Moorhead, was eastbound on 13th Avenue, approaching the underpass. The woman, who has not been identified, was jay walking north across 13th Avenue under I-29 when she was struck by the Silverado.
Sanford Ambulance arrived and transported the woman to Sanford in Fargo for further care. She sustained serious, life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Schaffer remained on scene after the crash and was arrested for an outstanding warrant for assault in Cass County.
Schaffer and the two passengers in the Silverado were not injured.
The Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
