MNDOT warns of loose gravel on Highway 55

As part of the 2019 construction project on Highway 55 from Barrett to the Grant/Douglas County line, motorists will encounter loose gravel with no centerline stripe south of Hoffman to the county line for approximately one to two weeks as crews prepare the roadway for resurfacing. Weather permitting, paving is expected to start later next week.

As a reminder, the road remains closed between Barrett and Hoffman, and traffic is being detoured to Highways 59 and 27. The bridge over the Pomme de Terre River, just east of Barrett, is under construction and impassable.
