FPD Community Trust Officers to host fall school assemblies

The Fargo Police Department Community Trust Officers will be putting on a school assembly in the Fargo Public Schools middle and high schools, Oak Grove and Shanley and Sullivan schools October 25-30. The assemblies include inspirational speakers and musicians, DPB and V-Rose, focusing on messaging that empowers our youth on identity, positive social media use, leadership and mental health awareness.

The Community Trust Officers plan to build on the messaging of the assemblies throughout the school year by connecting with student council groups to build on relationships and be more proactive in the schools and our community with our youth. The Community Trust Officers first put on these school assemblies in 2018 and reached over 7,000 students between seven schools. Community Trust Officer Michael Bloom says, “these school assemblies challenge students to dream, seek and achieve the goals they have in life.”

Community Trust Officers participated in Giving Hearts Day 2019 to raise funds for the assemblies, and are supported locally by Power 100 Women, Corwin, Fargo Kiwanis, and Brandt Hospitality.
