The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for portions of the valley, in effect until 9 a.m. on Monday.

According to a statement from the National Weather Service, the warning is in effect beginning at 9 p.m. this evening until Monday morning.

The following counties are a part of the warning: Minnesota - Clay, Hubbard, West Becker, East Becker, Wilkin, West Otter Tail, East Otter Tail, Wadena and Grant; North Dakota - Cass and Richland.

Heavy snow is expected, with accumulations between five and seven inches anticipated, with higher isolated amounts possible.

Other portions of the area are under a Winter Weather Advisory from 9 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. Monday.

The following counties are a part of the advisory: Minnesota - Norman, Mahnomen and South Clearwater; North Dakota - Traill.
