Two-vehicle wreck injures five in Richland County

A Sunday crash in Richland County, in southeastern North Dakota, has injured five people.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says it happened just west of Mooreton on Highway 13, involving two vehicles. Richland County’s Sheriff’s Office, along with Mooreton and Dwight’s Fire Departments, and Breckenridge Ambulance, responded to the accident.

Both vehicles were totaled, and no life-threatening injuries were reporting, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

It all happened when a vehicle, driven by 19-year-old Kristina Zink, was attempting to make a U-turn, when the second vehicle, driven by 63-year-old Randy Engquist, of Crete, N.D., struck it.

From the first vehicle, two passengers, plus Zink, were transported to St. Francis Medical Center. The second vehicle’s driver, Engquist, and his wife, were also taken to St. Francis Medical Center.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says it is continuing to investigate the crash.
