Hoeven Announces More Than $3.2 Million For Airports in Bismark and Dickinson

Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Committee, Wednesday announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded more than $3.2 million to improve airports in Bismarck and Dickinson. Details of the funds are as follows:

  • Bismarck Municipal Airport – over $2.2 million – The funds will be used to reconstruct Runway 13/31 and install new lighting, signage and markings for the airport taxiway.
  • Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport in Dickinson – $1 million – The funds will be used to extend Runway 14/32, purchase land and extend Taxiway F. Today’s funds are in addition to the more than $9.8 million awarded to the airport last Friday.

“The Bismarck and Dickinson airports provide important commercial and general aviation services to central and western North Dakota,” Hoeven said. “Today’s investments will help the airports expand and continue to meet the increasing aviation needs of the communities they serve.”
