Bismarck-Mandan CVB Warns of Fraudulent Website

The Bismarck-Mandan Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) wants to warn consumers about a fraudulent website appearing to be the CVB. The fraudulent site may be attempting to collect personal information from users by using the CVB as their identity.

The fraudulent website address is bismarck-mandancvb.org. The CVB’s actual website is www.NoBoundariesND.com.

Sheri Grossman, CEO of the Bismarck-Mandan Convention & Visitors Bureau indicated that this fake website has been reported to the domain registrant and the North Dakota Attorney General’s Office.

“Our organization has no affiliation or relationship with the bogus website,” said Grossman. “Sometimes such websites are created solely for the purpose of exhorting funds from the legitimate organization for the purchase of the copycat internet domain name.”

Grossman, however, cautions about other potential harmful intentions and warns the public to avoid this fraudulent website.

“I am highly concerned that the fake website perpetrators could be using the site for illegal or inappropriate purposes, including as a source to collect and sell information about groups or persons interested in visiting Bismarck-Mandan, or possibly even to collect personal or confidential information that could be used for ID Theft or other illegal activity,” said Grossman.

Grossman hopes visitors will look at its real and user-friendly website, which again is www.NoBoundariesND.com.

“I hope that you visit our website soon and look at all the great hotels, attractions, shopping, dining, recreational and other amenities that Bismarck-Mandan has to offer. We would love to see you soon,” Grossman said.
