Motor Vehicle Pedestrian Crash

 

On June 23, officers from the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of 9th Ave. N. & N. Washington St. for a report of a vehicle that struck a bicyclist.  The Grand Forks Fire Department and Altru Ambulance Service was also dispatched to the scene.  

Initial investigation revealed that a 2013 Chrysler 200, driven by 22-year-old Grand Forks resident Dominique Koehmstedt was traveling eastbound on 9th Ave. N. when she struck 65-year-old Grand Forks resident Raymond Dolezilek, who was traveling southbound on his bicycle, in the crosswalk, parallel to N. Washington St.  Dolezilek was treated on scene by Altru paramedics for non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries or property damage was reported. Koehmstedt was cited for failure to yield.
