Library’s ‘World War I on Screen’ Series Starts Sunday, Nov. 25

 

The Fargo Public Library will host a four-week film series featuring iconic World War I movies at the downtown Main Library.

The “World War I on Screen” series will open with the screening of the film “All Quiet on the Western Front” (1930, not rated) Sunday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. in the Community Room. Other films and dates in the series include:

  • Dec. 2 – “Paths of Glory” (1957, not rated)
  • Dec. 9 – “Gallipoli” (1981, PG)
  • Dec. 16 – “Testament of Youth” (2014, PG-13)

        Local film historian and former Concordia College film professor Tony McRae, along with local film critic and film enthusiast Matt Olien, selected the films. A brief discussion of the films will follow each screening. This film series is part of the 2018 One Book, One Community program series. All films are approximately 100 minutes long. Free popcorn will be served.
