Fargo Lions Club to Provide Christmas Gift to Red River Zoo As Part of 100th Year of Service

As a legacy project to mark our 100th year as an organization, The Fargo Lions Club will be presenting a donation to the Red River Zoo, to bolster the ‘Nature’s Playland’ section.

On December 19, at 10:00 a.m., club members will present the check to Executive Director, Sally Jacobson. All the structures should be completed in the Spring of 2019 for all patrons to use and enjoy.

The concept with this area is to encourage imaginative and creative play. The funds will be used to provide more irregular spaces that encourages children to learn risk assessment and build confidence. These include a log climber and an overlook with a vine tunnel.

“We are very excited to invest into long-term structures that will provide more opportunities for children at the zoo,” said Blake Strehlow, former club president. “This legacy project falls in line with our 100th year of service and we are looking forward to seeing the finished product.”
