As residents across the region start to wake up this morning, and daylight breaks, they’ll be able to see the full extent of any damage from the storms that hit overnight. Social media reports state that there is some damage in some areas of the northern Red River Valley. One Grand Forks resident said, “We got hit pretty good here, lightning lit up the bedroom, and you couldn't see the neighbors house at points. Afraid to see what it did to our backyard.” Anyone with damage is asked to contact local law enforcement and they will relay the message to the National Weather Service. A severe thunderstorm watch continues through 8 a.m.
