Davies Pool Suffers Damage In Storm

According to Fargo Parks District Executive Director Joel Vettel, the Friday morning storm caused some damage at the Davies pool. Vettel says there were seven large umbrellas, which were used for shade, that suffered damage in the storm Friday morning, which packed heavy rain and strong winds. “The umbrellas didn’t make it through the storm,” Vettel says. The umbrellas cost nearly $5,000 each. Total damage around the Davies pool was in the $40,000 to $50,000 range, according to Vettel. At other spots throughout the park district, trees and branches were skewed around, but Vettel said the damage was very minor compared to the Davies pool.

A testament to the staff for the Fargo Park District and at the Davies pool: The pool was open for business by mid-afternoon Friday.
