Winter Weather Moves Through

Another round of winter weather is moving again through our region, causing travel issues across the Upper Midwest.

The National Weather Service says a winter weather advisory is in effect until midnight for much of the Red River Valley, with up to five inches of snow possible in some areas, which will impact road and travel conditions across the region.

Valley News Live reported a multi-vehicle crash on near I-94 and 45th Street South, shortly after 8 a.m. today, in addition to a four-car crash on I-29 near exit 65 in the metro.

On the Minnesota side of the river, Sergeant Jesse Grabow tells WZFG News that there have been “quite a few crashes” and that the Patrol is still responding to some as of 1:45 this afternoon.

One Minnesota crash, at 12:10 this afternoon, sent a 23-year-old Perham woman to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, when she lost control of her 2003 Chevy Tracker, entered the right ditch and rolled on its side.

The driver, Chelsie Thomas, was injured. Her passenger, a one-year-old, was not injured. Both were properly belted.
