NDHP Responds To Thursday Morning Crash

 

The North Dakota Highway Patrol responded to a crash in Cass County Thursday morning near Leonard, N.D. According to the Highway Patrol, a semi truck/trailer hauling hazardous materials stopped at railroad tracks, as required, on Highway 46, traveling west. The driver of a Fed Ex vehicle was focused on reading a map, and didn’t notice the semi truck was stopped. The Fed Ex vehicle rear-ended the semi, causing extensive and disabling damage to the Fed Ex vehicle. The drivers of both vehicles were taken by ambulance to Essentia ER, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Fed Ex vehicle driver was cited for distracted driving.
