We respectfully nominate Officer David Todd as the West Fargo Police Officer for the Salute to Law Enforcement. Officer Todd has served in the United States Marine Corps, and joined the West Fargo Police Department in January of 2017. Since joining our department Officer Todd has been routinely recognized for his excellent police work and compassion to our community by his supervisors, fellow officers, and members of the community. In addition to his regular patrol duties Officer Todd is a member of our Bike Patrol team. Officer Todd was recently awarded the Medal of Valor for his actions on February 28th, 2019. Officer Todd learned of a possible victim in an apartment fire was still inside the building. Officer Todd coordinated the entry of the residence and with assistance of Officer Brock Ackerman pulled the victim from the fire, and with further assistance from Officer Matt Oldham, pulled the victim to a safe area. This is the first time the Medal of Valor has been awarded with the West Fargo Police Department.
