Food Truck Program Discussed in Fargo

The commission also discussed a pilot test of a food truck program. Nicole Crutchfield, Planning Director for the City, says she was 80 percent confident the idea would go through. Fargo City Commissioner Tony Gehrig says the City would be better beneficial to be city-wide. He says that a city-wide pilot would alleviate any concerns from restaurant owners in the downtown area, including parking if it were just to be downtown. Business owners in downtown Fargo say that parking would become a challenge if allowed downtown. Mayor Tim Mahoney reminded business owners, and the commission, that it would be a pilot program. Commissioner John Strand made a motion to table a decision indefinitely, and that motion passed 3-2. Crutchfield says many different agencies are involved in this project. She says more discussions will happen between food truck vendors and all agencies involved.
