Sheyenne Street paving and closures scheduled for Wednesday, July 25

  • Closure from 13th Avenue W. to 19th Avenue W. scheduled for Wednesday, July 25
  • Residents with driveway access on the west side of Sheyenne Street will be allowed to use the road but no through traffic will be allowed
  • East side of 17th Avenue W. and Sheyenne Street intersection to reopen following paving

The closure of Sheyenne Street from 13th Avenue W. to 19th Avenue W. for paving operations has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 25. The closure will start at approximately 8:30 a.m. and last until approximately 5:30 p.m. while crews pave Sheyenne Street from north of 17th Avenue W. to the south side of the 13th Avenue W. intersection. This closure is necessary due to the limited space on this stretch of the road for the paving equipment to operate, trucks to haul material and personnel safety.

During the closure, residents with driveway access on the west side of the road north of 19th Avenue W. will be able to utilize Sheyenne Street to access their homes and residents in the Beaver Creek development will be able to enter and exit Sheyenne Street from the south development entrance and travel south. No other traffic will be allowed through. This is the final paving closure for the new northbound lanes on Sheyenne Street between 13th Avenue W. and 19th Avenue W.

The east side of the 17th Avenue W. and Sheyenne Street intersection will reopen following Wednesday’s paving.

In connection with these paving operations, the contractor will begin sawing operations after paving, which may last through the night until early the morning of Thursday, July 26. The sawing allows crews to control the cracking of the pavement and avoid premature failure of the road. The timing is critical and cannot be delayed once paving is completed. This will result in an increase in construction noise that lasts outside of normal construction hours.
