MCKENZIE COUNTY, N.D. – The North Dakota Highway Patrol said an impaired motorcyclist was clocked going 123 miles per hour hour in a 65 mile per hour zone.
It happened on U.S. Highway 85 near Watford City.
Troopers say the driver slowed down quickly once he saw a squad car, so they weren’t able to “lock in the highest speed observed.”
The driver was arrested for DUI and cited for speeding and failure to transfer a title.
“Speeding like this leaves very little room for error, especially on a motorcycle. Slow down, stay sober, and make it home alive,” the Highway Patrol said.
