Arrest made after vehicle was stolen in West Fargo

WEST FARGO, N.D. – A homeless man is arrested after police say he stole a vehicle in West Fargo.

Officers were sent to the 3300 block of Sheyenne Street around 10:15 PM on Monday, February 9. A 911 caller said the vehicle was taken while the keys were in the ignition and the vehicle was running.

Around 20 minutes later, officers received a notification from the Flock Safety Camera System that the vehicle was near 7th Avenue and 17th Street East.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle and pinned it in a cul-de-sac near the 700 block of 50th Street South.

Twenty-six-year-old Andrew LaFountaine was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, driving under the influence refusal, driving under suspension and multiple probation violations.
