Court documents show accomplice’s involvement in murder of Sampson Bleh

(FARGO) – New information is being released regarding the new charges to a man in relation to the murder of Sampson Bleh in late August in Fargo.

According to court documents obtained by the newsroom, probable cause existed to charge Geettoe Kamara with accomplice to murder of Bleh. The probable cause is based on the facts that Kamara drove the suspect, Leo Dartoe, to the 2200 block of 12th Avenue South in Fargo. He then robbed Bleh of more than 300 M30 Fentanyl pills.

According to court documents, officers responded to the 2200 block of 12th Avenue for a report of a male who had been shot in the chest with a gun. Officers arrived to find Bleh still conscious. EMS arrived on scene and provided life-saving care before transporting the victim to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. It was determined that Bleh was shot twice – once in the right side of his chest and once in the right hamstring. The shot to the chest exited out the left side of his back.

Surveillance video from a nearby business showed Kamara driving Dartoe to the location, where they met an individual, identified in court documents as CI #1. From the surveillance video of the two controlled entries into the property in the 2200 block of 12th Avenue South, investigators were able to identify Dartoe, Kamara, CI #1 and CI #2 entering the building minutes before the shooting. Gunshots are heard on the video, with CI #1 and CI #2 running from the building seconds later. Dartoe exited the building within minutes after the shooting and is seen tucking something into the front of his waistband. After Dartoe leaves, Kamara exits.

Kamara was later arrested with 347 M30 Fentanyl pills. In follow-up interviews with Kamara, he denies not knowing who Dartoe is. There were a total of 10 phone calls between Kamara and Dartoe, eight before and two after the shooting. Kamara said that, after Bleh was shot and lying on the ground, he checked the victim’s pockets and took the M30 Fentanyl pills from Sampson, who was still alive at the time.

On August 28, CI #3, who lives in Pennsylvania, learned that Dartoe was in Philadelphia, possibly staying with CI #4. A detective from Philadelphia interviewed CI #4, who provided a new number for Dartoe, and said that they had communicated with Dartoe after the shooting.

On August 29, Fargo Police executed a search warrant at 2228 6th Avenue South, where Kamara lived. They located a phone and five loose 9mm rounds of ammunition. The phone number tied to the phone matched the one given to the detective in Philadelphia.

Two different casings, one brass and one nickel from a 9mm gun, were recovered from the scene of the homicide. The five rounds of ammunition recovered from Kamara’s residence are similar to those recovered from the homicide scene.

Kamara was charged in Cass County District Court with one AA Felony count of Accomplice to Murder.
