DETROIT LAKES, MN — A burglary trial for Minnesota State Senator Nicole Mitchell will be held in Becker County in January.
The Democratic senator from Woodbury was arrested in April for breaking into her stepmother’s home in Detroit Lakes. The trial has been set for January 27th, about two weeks after the start of the legislative session. Her arrest has led to calls for her resignation and an ethics investigation that’s been on hold pending the results of the criminal case.
The Senate ethics panel will discuss the Mitchell investigation during a hearing next week.
