MINNESOTA – Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party officials have sent out an ICE security plan for precinct caucuses that will be held statewide on February 3.
“Our commitment is straightforward: protect people and uphold participation. This is especially critical at precinct caucuses, which are a cornerstone of our democracy,” the document obtained by Flag Family News reads.
Precinct caucuses are where people organize their political party’s unit and consider resolutions to update their party’s platform.
The DFL is holding constitutional observer trainings it says will teach people how to properly document ICE activity at caucus locations. The party will also hand out “know your rights” cards and have signs at entrances informing ICE officers “they are not allowed in the building without a judicial warrant.”
The DFL also says in the plan that caucus leaders will have access to a hotline to answer any questions. There will also be a tip line with instructions on how to report ICE actions.
