Fargo Police Department reports of violent crime down, calls for service up in 2025

FARGO, N.D. – In his final annual report for the Fargo Police Department as its chief, Dave Zibolski had good news for the Fargo City Commission last night.

Crime, for the second year in a row, continues to decrease in terms of rate of occurrence.

But it’s not because of violent crimes.

“Certainly, it’s nice to see that our top five calls for service are not any time of aggravated assault, or things that are significant,” he said.

The department reported only 327 aggravated assaults in 2025, a decrease of 20 percent when compared to 2024.

Overall, calls for service involving the Fargo Police Department are up five percent year-over-year.
