Fargo voting on key homeless ordinance tonight to ban “camping” on most public property

FARGO, ND — The Fargo City Commission is be voting on a ordinance which impacts homeless residents tonight.

The ordinance, if approved, would ban camping on public property across most of the city, which would allow the city to disrupt homeless encampments currently established along the Red River and other areas of Fargo.

Several city officials have previously stated the ordinance is phase one of the project, and aim to continue supporting the homeless population through city services.
