U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer’s exclusive interview with The Flag’s Scott Hennen
WASHINGTON – North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer says he’s not surprised by President Trump’s ordered strikes in Iran early Saturday morning.
“I’m not even a little bit surprised,” he said in a Flag Family News exclusive interview. “What I’m surprised by is that the Iranian regime never came to his senses and didn’t take Donald Trump’s threats seriously. He’s given them so many opportunities to come to the table, to discuss a deal to reduce their ambitions related to nuclear weapons systems, and they thumb their nose at them.”
Cramer says the move is ‘the most transforming geopolitical move’ in his lifetime.
“I can’t think of another moment when a President of the United States, or a leader from anywhere in the world, changes the foundation, if you will,” he said. “And it’s huge for so many reasons, because remember, he just set this up, not just by moving entire military operations practically to the Middle East and into the Gulf and Gulf region.”
Cramer also touched on the history of Iran.
“Iran isn’t just a sleepy little village in the Sahara in Africa,” he said. “Iran is a major power. It’s one of the largest countries of oppressed people in the world and they’re very, they’re wealthy. Now, we’ve challenged that wealth a lot lately, and thank you, again, President Trump, for actually exercising sanctions on Iran’s oil, and remembering that Iran sold a lot of its oil to China.”
What will it take to judge victory in Iran?
“Target number one is make sure that they don’t have, never get nuclear weapons. But then to attack their arsenal that facilitates that, and they have a good one. I mean, they’re grounded your own missiles, they’re ballistic missiles, the mid-range missiles that can reach American bases and American allies to include Israel,” Cramer said.
