PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden has signed a pair of bills that will significantly impact property taxes in the state.
SB 96 and SB 245 both deliver ‘the largest property tax cut in South Dakota history,’ and were signed Thursday in the South Dakota Capitol Rotunda in Pierre.
“We accomplished a great deal this session – but this tops it all,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “It wasn’t easy – most things that matter take hard work and grit. It’s incredible what we can accomplish when we put policy over politics. Through good process and negotiations with legislative leadership, we delivered the largest property tax cut in South Dakota history!”
