MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Moorhead City Council makes an agreement with MBA Development Company on a project to make an elevated concrete grandstand, press box and backstop netting at Matson Field.
Work is scheduled to begin in July and is set to be finished in the spring of 2026.



The project costs $1,165,600 which will be paid from grants from the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Alex Stern Foundation and donations from Moorhead American Legion Post 21, local businesses and community members. More than $500,000 for the project comes from American Rescue Plan Act money and capital improvement funds.
“The Matson Field Stadium Project is an investment in our community and its future,” City of Moorhead Parks and Recreation Director Holly Heitkamp said. “We are grateful for the support from our partners and look forward to seeing this project come to life, enhancing opportunities for local sports and events in Moorhead.”
