FARGO, N.D. – A juvenile is arrested after thefts in South Fargo including a vehicle.
Around 12:15 AM on Friday, May 15, officers were searching for a young person related to a string of burglaries and found an open garage on the 1800 block of 18th St. S. Homeowners told them their vehicle was stolen.
Nearly 20 minutes later, officers found it near 23rd St. S. and 13th Ave. S and tried to stop it. The driver fled and the chase ended because of dangerous driving.
A few blocks later, the vehicle stopped in the 600 block of 23rd St. S. and the driver ran.
Around 3:45 AM, officers found the juvenile at their home. They were taken into custody on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, attempted burglary, criminal trespass and refusal to halt.
The vehicle was returned to its owner.
“From proactive patrol and investigative follow-up to making difficult decisions that prioritize public safety, our officers remain committed to being the guardians of our community through professionalism, teamwork and persistence,” Fargo Police wrote on social media.
