BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota Tax Commissioner Brian Kroshus says he’s running for reelection.
The Bismarck Republican was appointed North Dakota’s Tax Commissioner by former Governor Doug Burgum in 2021 and was elected by the voters in 2022. Prior to his service as Tax Commissioner, Kroshus served on the North Dakota Public Service Commission for five years, including two years as Chairman.
“It is a privilege to serve the citizens of North Dakota, and I’m asking voters for the opportunity to continue working on their behalf,” Kroshus said.
Kroshus says his priorities are fiscally responsible government, effective representation of citizens and transparency and fairness.
He has overseen the launch and success of the Primary Residence Credit, which was established during the 2023 Legislative Session. During the 2025 Legislative Session, the passage of House Bill 1176 approved a landmark property tax relief measure with part of the bill increasing the PRC from $500 to $1,600 annually.
