Charges Come Down on Woman Believed to have Spray-painted Jesus Statue in Fargo

(Fargo, ND) -- Charges have come down on a woman who is believed to have defaced the Jesus Statue in Downtown Fargo.

The Fargo City Prosecutor’s Office confirms to WDAY Radio that 28-year-old Blair Whitten has been charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal mischief. Whitten has pled not guilty to the charge.

The face of the marble statue outside St. Mary's Cathedral off Broadway was spray-painted black in the early morning hours of April 17th.

This is not the first time that Whitten has made headlines recently. She was also arrested in May after she allegedly disrupted the funeral of an ex-boyfriend. Witnesses said she drove over several graves and nearly hit two people during the service.  Luckily, no injuries were reported.
