Lincoln Elementary School goes on lockdown after student brings loaded handgun to class

(Fargo, ND) -- Lincoln Elementary School went into a brief lockdown today after a student brought a loaded handgun to class.

The student was sharing with others in the classroom that they brought the gun to school. That is when other students notified the teacher that a gun was in the classroom.

The teacher confiscated the gun without issue, and no threats were made to students or staff. The handgun is now in the hands of the Fargo Police Department.

The student is currently suspended and an investigation with the Fargo Police Department is currently taking place.
