Cause of Fargo house fire on New Year's Eve revealed

(Fargo, ND) -- We now know the cause of a blaze that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damages to a Fargo home on New Year's Eve.

The Fargo Fire Department says that the fire that occurred at 638 Waco Lane South has been determined to be caused by dismantled batteries that ignited nearby bedding. The fire has been classified as unintentional, and no charges are pending from the incident.

The Department did add that damages are estimated at roughly $40,000.
