(Fargo, ND) -- Jury selection is expected to get underway in the trial of a Fargo man accused of killing his then-girlfriend in December 2020.

Cody Plumlee faces a long list of charges, including murder and aggravated assault. Police say they were called to a disturbance at an apartment in the 700 block of 26th Street North, where the 24-year-old and his girlfriend Kristen Knaus had argued before he left the scene.

A witness says Plumlee returned, kicked in the door, then threw Knaus down the stairs, causing injuries that led to her death. Plumlee says Knaus hit him in the head with a frying pan before he pushed her away and she fell down the stairs.
