(Fargo, ND) -- No injuries were reported after a kitchen fire at a South Fargo apartment complex Saturday afternoon.

The Fargo Fire Department tells WDAY Radio crews responded to a report of a structure fire at 383 Prairiewood Circle South at about 2:06 p.m. The 9-1-1 caller was a neighbor who reported smoke coming from a window.

"The first arriving unit saw smoke coming from a first floor window on the north side of the building," said Acting Battalion Chief Brandon Wehner in a statement released to WDAY Radio. "All occupants were out of the building. That's when we pulled a hose line into it and found the fire in the kitchen of a first floor apartment. It was extinguished within 10 minutes of the first unit arriving on scene."

Other fire crews conducted a search of the building to ensure that all occupants had got out safely while the fire was being contained to the one apartment. No victims were found in any of the apartment units, though smoke had spread throughout the building. Crews then worked to remove the smoke, and after a short time all occupants of all units except the one where the fire occurred were allowed back in.

The residents of the involved apartment will be displaced until repairs are completed. An initial estimate for damage is $5,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
