(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota's only Down Syndrome achievement center is reopening the doors of their state of the art facility.

Fargo's GiGi's Playhouse held a grand reopening ceremony at their facility located at 3218 20th St S. Executive Director Heather Lorenzen says the new facility is bigger and better than they could have ever hoped, thanks to the community's generosity.

"We were able to really customize every tile to bring out the best in our participants, "said Lorenzen, "It has been humbling... we had 4,900 unique donors."

Lorenzen says a key contributor to the reconstruction project was The Engelstad Foundation, who matched all donations with a dollar-to-dollar match. She says now that the facility is back on its feet, the reconstruction project was a great way for the community to learn about Down's Syndrome.

"Taking something that was tragic and turning it into just a blessing, and an immaculate facility for all learning is just absolutely amazing. "said Lorenzen.
