(Barnesville, MN) -- Authorities in Minnesota say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a swatting incident at Barnesville High School.

The arrest came after several schools in Minnesota and North Dakota were hit Thursday with false threatening messages that brought a large police response.

School officials at all the campuses affected say the incident was resolved quickly and the threats were deemed invalid after multiple agencies investigated.

The threats stretched all across the Red River Valley, but are not believed to be connected to the threats made at Barnesville High. Details on the suspect arrested and since released, who was a student, have not yet been released.
