(Fargo, ND) -- With weather conditions in question, there's been a bit of a hitch thrown in to an event that has gone on for nearly 30 years in the Red River Valley.
The ND Fraternal Order of Police's Red River Valley Lodge #1 has announced that the originally scheduled for Thursday Cops and Kids shopping event has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, December 20th.
"The primary purpose of this program is to provide a brighter Christmas for disadvantaged children in our communities," said West Fargo Community Engagement Officer and Red River Valley Lodge #1 Cops and Kids Committee Chair Rhonda Jorgenson in a statement released to WDAY Radio. "This also allows children to meet and visit with local Law Enforcement Officers in a positive setting. The shoppers have already been selected for the shopping event."
Do to the reduced number of shoppers this year, only shoppers and not their families will be taken during the event. There will also be no post luncheon afterwards.
The Cops and Kids shopping event has been a constant in the area for 28 years.
