Nearly 70 hockey teams from 5 states compete at the West Fargo Winter Classic

(Fargo, ND) -- Nearly 70 hockey teams are competing this week in games at The Lights and at the West Fargo Sports Arena. 

"We're doing well over here in West Fargo. We've got a whole lot of activity going on at The Lights and stuff and we're just getting started with The Essentia Health West Fargo Winter Classic," said Mike Amundson, Executive Director for West Fargo Events. 

Amundson says the tournament and games feature high school and youth hockey teams from five states. The games and family events are taking place through Sunday. 

"We're just going to have a ton of fun with the younger group from our local West Fargo Youth Hockey Association, The Stampede, so we're super excited about that," said Amundson.
