Former inmate impacting lives while serving as volunteer for Cass County Jail Chaplains

(Fargo, ND) -- A former school administrator convicted on charges related to financial crime is now serving inmates as a volunteer for Cass County Jail Chaplains.

"I know that the jail chaplains often talk about the road to recovery or the road, getting back to our communities as often full of potholes and that's what happened in my professional and personal life," said Chaplain Rod Thompson.

Thompson says serving time in prison was extremely difficult but also a process that eventually proved to be redemptive. He says his experience allows him to connect with and support others behind bars.

"The advantage of having gone through some of life's most difficult moments is that you've survived it, you've come out the other side oftentimes transformed," said Thompson.

Thompson is also encouraging anyone else who also might be interested in serving in the ministry to learn more by using the link below.
