(West Fargo, ND) -- A West Fargo High School special education teacher is looking to brew a new type of lesson for her students.

Holly Friedrich is attempting to build a coffee shop to help teach students life skills. Those students already operate a coffee cart for teachers once a month as part of their math class, but Friedrich says even more can be done.

"We have a program that pairs students with and without disabilities to work together and grow friendships. The coffee shop would be another place they can be together and show how awesome it is to be a Packer," said Friedrich via her GoFundMe page, which is looking to raise $5,000 to expand.

Current operations include planning a menu, advertising, and delivering the drinks. The students, however, want to turn their classroom assignment into a full coffee experience. The funds would be used to purchase a cappuccino machine you'd see normally inside gas stations, as well as a couple of large coffee urns.

Friedrich believes a coffee shop run by her special education students would be a perfect blend of community building and life skills for their future.
