Combine driver cited for Care Required following collision with semi carrying diesel near New Salem

(New Salem, ND) -- No serious injures were reported following a semi truck and combine collision on Saturday.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a semi-truck hauling diesel fuel struck a combine on I-94 from behind approximately two miles east of New Salem. As crews were investigating the crash and clearing the scene, I-94 westbound lanes were closed for approximately two hours. The Semi driver, Thomas Johnson from Bismarck, had possible minor injuries according to authorities. The combine driver, Michael Schaaf from Glen Ullin, was not injured and was charged with care required.

The crash still remains under investigation.
