Highway Patrol captain: "This storm will close roads across a large portion of North Dakota"

(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Highway Patrol spokesman Captain Bryan Niewind is warning about road closures with a major snowstorm moving toward the Red River Valley.

"This storm will close roads across a large portion of North Dakota. It's not an if, it's a when. So when are we going to be closing roads. It's really kind of up in the air right now, but we will be closing roads with the storm. Just with the forecast of the amount of snow we're going to have, the types of winds that we're going to have. The amount of drifting that we have out there already," said Niewind.

Niewind also reminds you to make sure you keep an emergency kit in your car in the event that you become stuck while out on the road.
