(Fargo, ND) -- A local veteran living and volunteering in Ukraine is looking to stay with displaced and impacted residents.

Mark Lindquist, who conducted "Operation Sleep Out" for 17 days to raise money for Ukrainian war victims, has now received his Ukrainian Residence Permit. With the permit; Lindquist can reside in the region for three years, have all the benefits of a Ukrainian passport, open bank accounts, and various other benefits.

"Exactly one year ago I walked across the Polish border into #Ukraine to live and work as a volunteer. Today, I received my Ukrainian residence permit so I can stay here until our victory," said Lindquist in a social media post.
