(Fargo, ND) -- The city of Fargo is moving forward with final contracts for emergency flood protection.
The city commission held an emergency meeting Tuesday to approve local contractors to build clay levees, deploy trap bags, run emergency pumps, and haul sandbags.
The city engineer says the key factor in approvals was the ability to complete the needed work within the necessary time frame.
The public works director says the city is getting emergency pumps in place.
As far as sandbagging goes, volunteers have filled over 39,000 of the 200,000 goal after just one day. For more details on how you can volunteer to help out, click here.
