Major construction project set to begin on one of Fargo's busiest roads

(Fargo, ND) -- Work is set to begin Monday on a much-needed reconstruction project on 32nd Avenue in Fargo.

"I agree, it's in really rough shape and that asphalt we put on it last summer helped, but yeah intersection of 25th street is pretty rough. So yeah the road is over 30 years old and it's time for a complete replacement," said City of Fargo Transportation Engineer Jeremy Gorden.

Gorden says the work to rebuild 1.5 miles of 32nd Avenue will take place in phases over the coming years.

The work takes place from 32nd Street South on the west side to University Drive on the east end.

$12 million of the total $20 million cost for the project is coming from the Federal Highway Administration.
