Fargo forestry officials searching trees for invasive ash borer

(Fargo, ND) -- The detection of the emerald ash borer in nearby Moorhead, Minnesota has Fargo forestry officials checking ash trees in their city.

Crews will identify which trees can be treated and which have to be removed.

Fargo has removed thousands of ash trees in the last ten years as the invasive insect continues to spread and kill large numbers of trees.

The emerald ash borer has not been detected in Fargo but officials say it's just a matter of time.
