(Fargo, ND) -- Several projects received green lights and approvals to move forward based on city committee recommendations.

A motion to approve an advertisement for a bid to repair street lights and traffic signals across the city was successful. The city is looking for a business or entity that can fix and repair various lights across Fargo. The commission is utilizing Utility Funds for street lights to pay for the project.

The commission also approved the hosting of Green Dot Training under Fargo Cass Public Health and the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. You can learn more by clicking here

The City's Engineering staff approved the construction of a dumbbell interchange design over I-29 and 40th Avenue North, which uses two roundabouts in place of traffic lights. The recommendation was based on data presented to the city by the North Dakota Department of Transportation. The commission approved the interchange design, which will move forward through the environmental document process and into preliminary design.

In addition, The Commission approved a noise and vibration study with Veneklase as the firm for 2023. To ensure there were no holes in the budget, a $30,000 budget adjustment was voted on by commissioners. The study will look to determine the average background noise level in the city, to further refine city ordinance.
