No Injuries in Train vs Semi Collision near Casselton

CASS COUNTY (WDAY -  Around 12 p.m., Friday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Casselton Fire Department and personnel from BNSF, responded to the area of County Road 23 and County Road 10 for a collision involving a semi tractor-trailer hauling corn and a train. 

The crash location is approximately two miles west of Casselton, ND. Reports advise there were no injuries sustained, there was no train derailment, and there was minor damage sustained to the train and the cross arm. 

The rail line is currently closed as officials investigate the crash and the scene is being cleaned up. 

The investigation determined the train was traveling westbound and the tractor-trailer was traveling southbound on County Road 23 when the collision occurred.  The 18-year-old male driver of the semi was issued a citation for care required.
