(Fargo, ND) -- More than 1,300 hundred student athletes from around North Dakota will be competing in the Clay Target State League Tournament beginning Thursday in Horace.

"It's a sport for everyone. So, regardless of one's gender or if you have physical disabilities or you are in a wheelchair, all you really need to participate in the sport is good eye-hand coordination and guess what, that's what kids have," said John Nelson, President of the USA Clay Target League.

Nelson says 86 high school teams, including several from metro area schools are taking part.

Events include trap shooting, skeet shooting, and 5-stand.

The 4-day competition takes place at The Shooting Park.

The public is welcomed to attend and there is no admission fee.
